“Knocked down, cried out, been down just to find out… I’m through bleeding for you.”

Shirley Manson - especially in the era of Versions 1.0 & 2.0 - was the most badass role model to have as a girl in her late teens.  I like to think she bolstered my attitude for telling guys to f*ck off instead of dealing with their crap.  I definitely didn’t have self esteem issues.  So thank you for that, Ms. Manson.

That said, this is probably my favorite song of theirs ever, with “Vow” & “Push It” close behind.  And this is a beautiful version.

(and I will never understand why Jen Aniston and Brad Pitt used it as their wedding song… did they even listen to the lyrics? dumbasses.)

Garbage | Sugar

Don’t come close, please keep at a distance
Look but don’t touch till the light goes on
Sour as a lemon, please wait by the window
Don’t touch the glass till the curtain calls

Wait, wait… Don’t make me wait
Just give me sugar

Oh, won’t someone love me?”

My other favorite track.

“I Hate Love” by Garbage

I could listen to this over and over.  (I haven’t stopped since May.)

“See how it feels with the passion burning… we’ll be damned when we’re done.”

Obsessed with this song.

1&2: details

3: I love how it looks in dim light.  Her eyes glow.

4: Wide view of the kitchen/dining area.  Where we’re imagining a new table, and there’s usually a white fluffy flokati rug beneath it.  And where that green candelabra will live.

(an aside: the bee idea came from a cover shot I saw of Lana del Rey, but after deducing & reading that she’s had collagen injections in her top lip {whaaaaat??} I decided to loosely base it upon the HBIC of rock whose bee stung pout is unenhanced…. Ms. Shirley Ann Manson.)

an evolution…. from start to finish.
