Random snaps from spaces past.

Probably the living room incarnation I have the most nostalgia for. Those sofas were so comfy. I liked the white shag rug better than the brown, but I preferred the purple/plum/red pillows.

It’s depressing to have your new Rococo style candelabra arrive with its arm busted off, but hopefully they’ll send me a new one without a problem. I taped the arm on to snap a pic. It needs white candles.

Living room mockup (left out a few odds & ends): TV stand, Ikat lumbar pillow, carved lotus wall hanging to go over the sofa, sofa mockup, new end tables & lamps, Tillary tufted sofa in lagoon, hot pink accent pillows, chevron paneled wood wall to go behind woodstove, coffee table, Elejah painting, area rug. Not pictured: drapes & white Ikea Lack wall bookshelves & the retro lounge chairs flanking the woodstove.

All of the swatches I ordered from Tonic Living for potential living room drapes. Fingers crossed one set will work!

Previous bathroom incarnations since April 2009.  I liked all of them, but the current one in my previous post is my favorite by far.

Our bathroom.  It’s the one year anniversary of painting it and happening upon this decoration combo (after 4 or 5 previous versions).  I spent the weekend of Hurricane Irene painting the bathroom in the midst of constant torrential downpours and the worry over possible power outages and flooding.  Such a drastically different scene from this extremely dry summer where everything wants to wilt from the heat and lack of water!

Anyway, it looks the same now.  Probably the longest I’ve left a room alone without any tweaking (except for the addition of a small frog toilet in the hopes of enticing my daughter to potty train).  We do have plans for bigger renos eventually - I love cobalt blue as a color but hate it on that tile.  I’d love to put in some basic white subway tile with a glass mosaic accent, and probably a teal painted clawfoot tub instead of our rusting iron one.  Some other type of wood floor would be nice instead of peel and stick linoleum, too, and a white toilet to match the rest of the bathroom suite instead of the almond colored one.

But otherwise - I still really love it, everything pops so nicely against that dark neutral wall color.  I imagine we’d keep most of the rest of the decor the same.

It just works.

and by night.

Some sunny contrasty deck shots from a week or so ago.

some small additions… gold bed pillow, jade painted fireplace. planning to finish the closet doors later today (which involves tearing the bedding off to prevent stray paint stains).
