Three before-ish pics from this spring (two prior to painting and one after painting started but before working on the yard) and a slew of afters from today. We did a ton of landscaping work and have gotten through a good amount of painting, but there’s still a bunch to do, including:
-finish all the painting/edging/trim/staining of the house, garage, foundation, and deck
-replace the side garage door
-move the flower basket in front of the door to the left one section
-make/buy a house number sign (I truly love this one: http://www.etsy.com/listing/59239623/16x20-in-personalized-welcome-house)
-plant a rose bush under the window of the bump-out (aka where our bedroom is)
-plant some more plants on the side of the house where the azalea bush is and probably add in another hosta in front
-finish mulching
-in the back, build our pergola-ish shade structure for the deck
-get the potted plants ready for the deck
-build a table for the deck
-paint the swingset
-probably next year, tear out a slew of the concrete entryway/in front of the garage & replace with stamped concrete
Thank God it’s only the end of May. It’ll be interesting to see how much we actually accomplish this summer.
Currently still obsessing over Game of Thrones… Jon in particular.
My black marker ran out when I started the trees, so please excuse the shoddy coloring
I don’t even watch “Game of Thrones” but this is an amazing illustration.

If there were ever a designer who was “me,” it’s easily Trina Turk. No one else. I wish I were independently wealthy to fill my house with a mix of MCM furnishings and her textiles/accessories. And then I’d dress in clothes from her line and sip margaritas under the palm trees.
(also, that Ikat sofa in her shop? *to-die-for*!)
daylight shots. chair color much more accurate. I spraypainted them with Rustoleum’s Painter’s Touch in Lagoon - a fabulous deep teal.
“See how it feels with the passion burning… we’ll be damned when we’re done.”
Obsessed with this song.
